Direct Action Medical Network (DAMN) is a group of Surgeons/Physicians who conduct medical operational advisory assistance, and educational instruction, to SWAT/SRT/SMU and other unit Commanders/Operators, enabling them to identify and close capability gaps, enhance training, and exploit target vulnerabilities in order to mitigate and defeat uniquely problematic threats and help form a mentally agile and adaptive operational medical/training culture.
Robert Smith, MD is the CEO of DAMN. He is trained as a General Surgeon. In addition to lecturing/training nationally for DAMN, he maintains a clinical practice in Louisiana. He has been an active entry team member of several LE SWAT/SRT teams for five years. Dr. Smith is a Lifetime Member of the Special Operations Medical Association.
“Over the past several years, operators have repeatedly asked us about kits and materials that are commonly available in the marketplace. Because the needs and priorities of these teams tend to be unique there is no one product that currently fits the most demanding versatility when it comes to medical intervention in special operational environments. Therefore, we have worked with RBR TACTICAL in the design and development of the DAMN Operator Kit”.
